This is an entry-level, part-time position. Animal Care/Office Assistants are responsible for assisting with the day-to-day care of pets that are hospitalized or boarding and for the general cleanliness and sanitation of the Hospital. This includes feeding, watering, cleaning, walking, and monitoring the well-being of dogs and cats. This employee will also work closely with the customer service specialists to communicate with clients and prepare patient files for the following day. The ACA will also occasionally assist doctors and technicians with the safe handling of patients with miscellaneous duties.

The Customer Care Specialist creates the first impression of our Office to our clients. This employee maintains a “client first” mentality, is a client/patient advocate, and assists in control of the overall flow of the hospital. The CCS ensures patients are scheduled effectively & efficiently to maximize production and client satisfaction. The CCS must be proficient with computers, perform clerical duties related to veterinary care and treatment, process invoices and payments, handle and reconcile the cash drawer, perform various pharmacy duties, handle client communication, and provide miscellaneous support to other staff members.

Veterinary technicians play a vital role in our veterinary hospital working with veterinarians in the care and treatment of both small and large animal patients. They assist during patient examinations and surgical procedures by restraining animals when necessary. Technicians must have strong clinical skills to perform an initial evaluation of the animal’s condition, take medical histories, check patient vitals, collect samples, administer medications and vaccines, provide nursing care to hospitalized patients, and update patient records. Technicians also prepare for appointments and surgeries, perform basic diagnostics and lab work in the hospital, and may assist veterinarians with many other miscellaneous procedures. They are also in charge of patient invoicing & charges, stocking examination and surgery rooms with supplies, sterilizing tools, and ensuring that equipment is in working order. Veterinary technicians must also have excellent communication skills so they may communicate with pet owners and coworkers. Our office requires the Veterinary Technician to have earned a list of credentials including an Associates in Applied Science degree in Veterinary Technology, earned a passing grade on the Veterinary Technician National Exam, and hold an up to date license as a Certified Veterinary Technician.
